Reverend Tommy Stewart Appointed to National CADCA Advisory Board
Reverend Tommy Stewart
Site Coordinator
Being active and committed to faith-based works, as clergy/pastor and for the past 15 years working with ex-offenders, substance abusers, and crime, intervention and treatment with the justice department, I submit the following comments.
CADCA’s support and commitment against drug abuse has played a major role in all communities in the United States. This commitment has united organizations, communities and citizens to join together and be part of the solution and not the problem. Coalitions provide a full-service package to the community by brining in all resources that tackle multiple issues with one-goal and one purpose, a solution. The Spirit of Peace, Inc. has been working with coalitions for over five years, to include the police department, adult probation, U.S. Attorneys Office, Mental Health and Substance Abuse agencies, schools, churches and many other organizations to improve the community, citizens and businesses in the area.
Through our coalitions we have been able to break down the barrier between the police and citizens and other departments which has resulted in decreased crime, improved neighborhoods, improved school grades and most importantly the communication between citizens and city departments.
I feel special for being a part of an organization that truly is hope for the hopeless.
